DescriptionThis newscutting entitled 'Woodbrooke Council' summarises the business which the Woodbrooke Council discussed at their meeting on 11th June 1948. The article refers to the appointment of Philip Wragge as the new Secretary of the Woodbrooke Extension Committee following the resignation of Robert Davis who was to become a Fellow at Woodbrooke during the next academic year. The article also features a report from G. Noel Hyde, the Warden at Woodbrooke, concerning the students currently studying at the College. The article also includes comments concerning a report by the Woodbrooke Fellows on the work which they were currently undertaking. Towards the end of the article is a note offering congratulations to Elizabeth Taylor Cadbury on her approaching ninetieth birthday. The article also records that a message had also been sent to Taylor Cadbury's cousin, the Quaker academic Rufus Jones, in Haverford, Pennsylvania concerning his recent ill health.
