| Description | Mounted black and white photograph showing Elizabeth Taylor Cadbury at the opening of Dame Elizabeth House, the Young Women's Christian Association (Y.W.C.A.) Centre opened in Bordesley Green in 1939. The new centre was named after Elizabeth Taylor Cadbury to commemorate her lifelong support of the Y.W.C.A. The centre was opened by the Marchioness of Aberdeen who can be seen sitting to the left of Elizabeth Taylor Cadbury in the centre of the photograph. The Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress of Birmingham, Alderman and Mrs. J. Crump, are featured on the left hand side of the photograph opposite the Bishop of Birmingham, Reverend E. W. Barnes, who can be seen seated to the right of Elizabeth Taylor Cadbury. |
