| Description | Two copies of the same group photograph mounted together, one in sepia and a smaller copy in black and white. The photograph shows Elizabeth Taylor Cadbury with her children and step children outside the Manor House, Northfield. The people shown in the photograph are as follows:
Back row (4th row), left to right: Denis Lambert, Mrs. Ursula Lambert, Norman Cadbury, Mrs. Norman Cadbury, Mrs. Egbert Cadbury and Major Egbert Cadbury.
First middle row (3rd row), left to right: Geoffrey Hoyland, Bertram Crosfield, William Greeves, Mrs. Marion Janet Greeves.
Second middle row (2nd row), left to right: Mrs. Dorothea Hoyland, Mrs. Eleanor Crosfield, Mrs. Isabel Wilson, Kenneth Wilson, Mrs. Laurence Cadbury, Laurence Cadbury.
Front row (1st row), left to right: Mrs. Edward Cadbury, Edward Cadbury, Elizabeth Taylor Cadbury, George Cadbury Junior, Henry Cadbury, Mrs. Henry Cadbury.
Discrepancies between the captions and an annotation featured on the backing sheet of these photographs are mounted make it unclear whether the group were assembled to celebrate the Golden Wedding Anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Cadbury or to commemorate Elizabeth Taylor Cadbury's birthday. Pencil annotations on the backing sheet state that the photograph was taken to celebrate Elizabeth Taylor Cadbury's ninetieth birthday on 22nd July 1946. However, this is inaccurate as Elizabeth Taylor Cadbury celebrated her ninetieth birthday on 24th June 1948. It is therefore more likely that the photograph was taken, as the typed caption suggests, on the occasion of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Cadbury's Golden Wedding Anniversary on 22nd October 1946. |
