| Description | Mounted black and white group photograph showing George Cadbury and Elizabeth Taylor Cadbury standing outside the Manor House with a group of Austrian children who came to Britain following the First World War when Austria was struck by a period of severe starvation. A group of these children lived in Bournville for a year and were entertained at the Manor House before returning to Austria. Elizabeth Taylor Cadbury was Chairman of the Committee formed to oversee the welfare of Serbian children who were sent to Birmingham during the First World War and she played an active role accommodating these Austrian children who arrived following the end of the conflict. |
