| Description | The first meeting of the Brass and Copper Tube Association was held on 6 December, 1878 at the Queen's Hotel, Birmingham. The Chair was Mr H. Hussey Vivian, M.P. and those present were Messrs. Elliott, Everitt, Gibbins, Lindsay, Mapplebeck, Muntz, Sumner and Vivian. It was resolved that a Tube Association for the purpose of fixing prices and regulating the terms of sale be formed by the Firms represented by the gentlemen present. The Association was to apply to seamless Brass Boiler and Condenser Tubes and Seamless Brass Tubes of all descriptions. Mr R. W. Lindsay was requested to act as Honorary Secretary. |
