AdminHistoryThe Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) was established as the Charities Aid Fund in 1924 as a department of the National Council on Social Service (NCSS). The CAF became a registered charity in 1974 and officially changed its name that same year. CAF aims to 1) facilitate the most effective support to charities from individual donors, whether through regular donations or a more strategic giving plan, 2) support companies’ work with charities and communities, and help them engage their employees in charitable activity to achieve greater impact, 3) provide tailored solutions for charities’ funding and finance needs, across banking, investments, fundraising and social investment, 4) help individual and company donors to maximise their support to charities across borders worldwide and 5) work to secure supportive legal, fiscal and regulatory conditions for donors, charities and social enterprises.
