TitleWaseley Hill Country Park: setting up of country park
LevelFile
Date1970 - 1997
DescriptionCorrespondence and related material including plans pertaining to the establishment of Waseley Hill Country Park in the Lickey Hills. This file includes correspondence with Worcestershire County Council and the Birmingham Parks Committee. The site of the park at Waseley and Windmill Hills was purchased by the Worgan Trust in 1971 and offered first to the City of Birmingham and later to Worcestershire County Council. The latter purchased the land from the Trust and duly established a country park. A parcel of land belonging to Chapmans Hill School Farm and Gannow Farm owned by the Worgan Trust was sold to Worcestershire County Council to extend the park in 1971. Much of the file deals with improvements to the park and the implication of these improvements for Chapmans Hill School Farm and other land owned by the Worgan Trust in the Lickey Hills. The Trust also supported some improvements in the park including minor extensions including the leasing of Segbourne Coppice to the National Trust. Minutes: PSCT 136, WT 243, WT 257. Notes: There is a considerable gap in the date range covered in this file between 1979 and 1996. File organised from newest to oldest. File not numbered.
