Funding source(s): Barrow and Geraldine S. Cadbury Trust. Applicant overview: The HYMP, or Rafiki House, provides facilities that cater specifically to the needs of women. Young and single mothers are the key priorities of the HYMP. Rafiki House provides five rooms, a kitchen, bathroom and office as well as larger rooms to accommodate courses (including self defence and keep fit courses). Educational services also include discussion groups, advice sessions and a fashion and craft group. The childcare section of the HYMP offers crèche and nursery facilities for mothers at work and college. Nature of support: In 1982 the Trust provided two grants to HYMP. One grant of £650 was made towards the purchase of a vehicle to transport mothers and children. This grant was subsequently increased by £100.
