Applicant overview: CPDS was established in 1987 as the National Network of Product Development Agencies project at the instigation of Sheffield City Polytechnic and The Sheffield Centre for Product Development and Technological Research (SCEPTRE). The company was established to support and promote the co-ordination of activities involving the development of new and socially useful products, processes or services. CPDS aims to exchange information between Company members of general or specific interest, support members in the creation of joint or multiple member projects throughout the UK and Europe, promote the activities of the Company, co-ordinate funding activities and to act as an advisory body for local or national organisations whose objectives are in accord with the aims of the Company. Nature of support: In 1987 the Trust approved three grants of £3,650, £10,700 and £11,200 for the years 1987/1988, 1988/1989 and 1989/1990 respectively.
