Applicant overview: The ACRC was established as a result of the amalgamation of the Rotton Park/Winson Green Youth Employment Scheme Ltd., Black Workers Association and the Afro-Caribbean Co-operative Society Ltd. The aims of the ACRC are to: 1) initiate and develop positive job creating schemes and training facilities, 2) develop a training workshop to meet the needs of unemployed people, 3) to act as a source of advice, especially among the Black Community, who are to a large extent, disadvantaged, 4) to assist in the formation of Co-operatives, and 5) to give free professional advice. Nature of support: In 1987 the Trust agreed to offer a grant of £10,000 per annum for two years toward the cost of a development worker. This was subsequently increased by £5,000 per annum.
