Applicant overview: The CRA was established in 1983 as a consequence of the dissatisfaction felt by many radio enthusiasts and community groups with existing radio provisions. The CRA is the main voluntary sector participant in government consultation sessions on community radio. CRA advocates the legalisation of community radio to widen democratic communication and to increase employment opportunities.
