Funding source(s): Barrow and Geraldine S. Cadbury Trust. Applicant overview: The DUWG was set up in 1982. The Group emerged as a result of an initiative to promote the development of educational courses for the unemployed of Derry. This initiative came from the Institute of Continuing Education (ICE) of the University of Ulster at Magee, the Workers Educational Association (WEA) and local trade unions. DUWG's area of work includes the subjects of welfare rights, education, environment and cooperative economic development. The Group was wound up in 1991.
