SLACC acts as a co-ordinating body to safeguard the area. SLACC aims to, 1) advise government and statutory bodies on conservation, development and management of the area, 2) provide a forum for the exchange of views and ideas, 3) promote and undertake research and investigation, and 4) educate the public about the potential for conservation, development and uses of the area.
