Applicant overview: UQPEP was established in April 1988 with the aim of fostering peace education and education for mutual understanding in the primary and secondary school sectors particularly in the western area of Northern Ireland. Two areas to be addressed are to speak to the uncommitted and to support those who are committed but work in isolation. Nature of support: In 1986 the Trust approved three annual grants to the Ulster Quaker Service Committee (UQSC) of £5,000 each. A further grant of £12,000 was agreed in 1991.
