WUS (UK) works with partners in countries around the world to deliver and support education and training, especially for refugees and people affected by conflict. It works this group, specifically for the advancement of education and the relief of students and staff of higher universities and other institutions of higher education who are in need of financial assistance. WUS achieves these aims through its two divisions: the Refugee Education & Training Advisory Service (RETAS) and its International Division. The Fontana Project was carried out by RETAS as an innovative partnership providing pathways to employment and self-employment for refugees and asylum seekers by providing an integrated package of training supported by work placements, job search, accredited prior experiential learning and employment support and a 'one stop shop' advice service. WUS became a registered charity in 1964. Nature of support: In 1995 the Trust agreed to three annual grants of £15,000 each subject to the successful outcome of a European Horizon bid.
