Applicant overview: Sampad was established in 1983 and exists to develop a deep and distinctive structure of South Asian arts in Birmingham and Britain through production, promotion, advocacy, education and outreach activity. Sampad aims to be inclusive in all its practices and will be as concerned with the pursuit of excellence as it will be with widening access. Nature of support: In 1995 the Trust approved a single grant of £4,000 to Sampad in order to release £16,000 in National Lottery funds to launch a feasibility study for a new centre.
