Applicant overview: The ACRC was established in 1980 in response to the social needs and unemployment levels found in the local African Caribbean community in Birmingham. In 1996 the ACRC conceived the Millennium Project. The overall project is based on accommodating social welfare and employment resource, multimedia, arts, radio broadcasting and sound recording in a techno cafe at a new site. Nature of support: In 2001 the Trust approved a single grant of £25,000 towards the costs of governance training, programme planning and staff development at the new centre. Minutes: BCT 1054.
