| Description | Grant file containing correspondence, grant overviews, minutes, reports, agendas, newsletters, annual reports and accounts and project proposals relating to the Inter-Faith Network (IFN). Funding source(s): Barrow Cadbury Trust, Racial Justice Programme. Applicant overview: The IFN was founded in 1987, following two years of consultation, to advance public knowledge and mutual understanding of the teachings, traditions and practices of the different faith communities in Britain and to promote good relations between people of different faiths in this country. An important part of IFN's work is gathering and disseminating information and good practice and providing support and advice as part of supporting and strengthening inter faith understanding and good inter faith relations in the UK. Members of the public, faith communities, voluntary bodies such as youth organisations, schools, public agencies, academics and many others – from the UK and overseas – draw on IFN's experience of building good relations, and its network of contacts. Nature of support: In 1999 the Trust agreed to grants of £5,000 in 1999/2000 and £7,500 in 2000/2001 towards the salary and running costs of the IFN's information and advice service. Minutes: BCT 820, RJP 10/99. Notes: File organised from newest to oldest. File numbered 'I/5'. |
