Funding source(s): Barrow Cadbury Trust. Applicant overview: The Forum on Children and Violence was established under the auspices of the NCB in 1995 with the support of the Gulbenkian Foundation. The Forum aims to promote, 1) an understanding of why children become violent and ways of preventing violence, 2) an active commitment to non-violence, and, 3) co-ordinated action to prevent violence in child rearing, care and education and promote non-violence in all aspects of children's lives. Nature of support: In 1996 the Trust agreed to offer an initial grant of £10,000 to the Forum in 1996/1997 plus an additional £5,000 per annum for 1997/1998 and 1998/1999. Minutes: BCT 286.
