Applicant overview: The PPT was established in 1987 to release the creativity and imagination of the children of Ireland by providing them with opportunities to communicate their thoughts, feelings and experiences. The PPT specifically aims to, 1) bring together children, teachers and other adults from the North and South of Ireland and from different backgrounds, experience and tradition, in the common goal of exploring and expressing their creative energy, 2) release the imagination and express it freely through both the written word and other art forms, 3) foster a love of language among the children in schools on the island of Ireland, 4) explore through writing and arts the world of children, 5) bring together the arts and the environment, 6) affirm teachers and pupils in their joint creative efforts, 7) provide opportunities in creative writing in the wider and better use of the Irish language, and, 8) maintain and develop the cultural contact and exchange opportunities with Russian schools involved in the PPT's programme.
