Cadbury Trust in order to find alternatives to arms production in the manufacturing sector. The project is a collaborative effort between unions at Lucas Aerospace (an arms producer) and Lancaster Polytechnic, Coventry which established the Lucas Aerospace Combine Shop Stewards Committee, later the Unit for the Development of Alternative Products (UDAP). UDAP's primary project is a hybrid/electric engine for automobiles. Nature of support: The Trust provided a grant of £65,000 for 1981 to 1985.
