Applicant overview: SANA is an independent organisation of scientists formed in response to the acute dangers of the continued escalation of nuclear armaments and the consequent risk of nuclear war. The term 'scientist' is used to refer to social scientists, engineers and technologists. The primary purpose of SANA is to promote and coordinate the activities of scientists aimed at assisting groups and individuals concerned with halting and reversing the nuclear arms race. This includes providing accurate public information, contributions to the media as well as academic journals. Nature of support: In 1981 SANA was offered a single annual grant of up to £7,500 to become established and make further funding connections.
