Applicant overview: The RSP was created in 1982 at Oxford with the objective to study and address international refugee policy issues, the root causes of refugee movements, the impact of refugees on their hosts, the legal status of refugees and their protection, the psychological effects of forced migration, the training needs of host countries, the evaluation of emergency assistance programmes and resettlement programmes for refugees. IA was conceived as an agency to provide early warning of genocide to the international community. During its first three years IA has pursued three main regional themes in Sri Lanka, Uganda and racism in Europe. Nature of support: In 1985 the Trust approved a grant of £5,000 toward an IA project aimed at reporting genocide and massacres.
