Date2007 - 2009
DescriptionGrant file containing correspondence, file sheet, reports, CD, financial papers, grant terms and conditions, general information and due diligence form, agenda and project proposal relating to the European Women's Lobby (EWL). Funding source(s): Barrow Cadbury Trust. Applicant overview: The EWL is a largest alliance of women's non-governmental organisations in the European Union (EU). In 1990, the European Commission granted its support for the foundation of the EWL, with a Secretariat based Brussels, the location of the main European Union institutions. The EWL plays a dual role as a link between women's organisations and institutions. The EWL facilitates dialogue and exchanges between citizens and European decision-makers. Because of its advisory status in both the United Nations Economic and Social Council and the Council of Europe, the EWL plays an instrumental role at the international level. Nature of support: In 2007 the Trust agreed to grants totalling £40,000 over twelve months towards a series of national meetings in fifteen members' states and a final seminar in Brussels. Minutes: T07/08-32. Notes: Copy minutes are not included though minutes are referenced in the file sheet. File organised by subject. File not numbered.
