| Description | Grant file containing correspondence, file sheet, file notes, reports, copies of published material, printouts from websites, financial papers, grant terms and conditions, agenda and project proposal relating to the Saheli Women's Group (SWG). Funding source(s): Barrow Cadbury Trust. Applicant overview: SWG was established in 1998 to engage local Asian women in residents' groups. Based in Sparkbrook, where a majority of the local community are from minority ethnic backgrounds, it provides services for local women regardless of religious background, colour, nationality or status. The organisation works hard to engage young girls and women from minority backgrounds who would not normally try to influence local decision making. Nature of support: In 2008 the Trust approved a grant of £48,300 to support the salary costs of the project worker to deliver a programme of black and minority ethnic (BME) women to engage in local democratic processes. Minutes: T07/08-39. Notes: Copy minutes are not included though minutes are referenced in the file sheet. File organised by subject. File not numbered. |
