Funding source(s): Barrow and Geraldine S. Cadbury Trust. Applicant overview: The Project on Partnership Between Black and White aims to encourage inter-church relations, mutual trust, the sharing of resources and the building up of competent leadership in partnership between black and white Christians. The Project acts to serve as a resource centre where white led and black led churches can find information about one another's life, worship and traditions. It further serves to provide advice and encouragement to churches, church councils and community workers in areas with significant numbers of African and West Indian churches. It also encourages theological training (begun in December 1978) in the Department of Extramural Studies at Birmingham University. Pilgrim Social Action (PSA) is the social service arm of the Wesleyan Holiness Church. Nature of support: The Trust approved a three-year grant programme at £6,000 per annum effective September 1981 to meet staffing costs of the Project on Partnership Between Black and White. Additional grants were also made during this period to Pilgrim Social Action for £5,000 over two years effective April 1981. Minutes: B&GSCT 5216. Notes: File organised by date from newest to oldest.
