Applicant overview: The Project was established by the Rape Crisis Federating Representative Group (RCFRG) to, 1) encourage networking and support between rape crisis centres, 2) facilitate a two way means of communication between individual rape crisis groups and RCFRG, and 3) establish a federation of rape crisis groups. The Rape Crisis Federation (RCF) was launched in 1996, became a registered company in 1997 and a registered charity in 1998. The RCF aims to promote the relief of women and girls in Wales and England who have experienced sexual violence and/or abuse whether recently, or in the past by, 1) promoting good practice among member groups, 2) advancing education of the public about sexual violence and/or abuse and related issues, 3) promoting, developing and supporting the network of autonomous, locally based, women only groups, and 4) advancing other charitable purposes, as required. Nature of support: In 1993 the Trust approved a single grant of £20,000 towards the appointment and salary of a development worker.
