Applicant overview: The London Borough of Lewisham's Training Promotions Unit in conjunction with the Ethnic Minorities Leadership Project jointly proposed the creation of a vocation training course in 1986 for the purposes of 1) informing black people about existing training structures, 2) encouraging black people to play an active role in training, 3) encouraging black people to campaign around training, 4) encouraging black people to be involved in planning and training, 5) building a black perspective into training, 6) building a black women's perspective into training and 6) encouraging the development of supporting mechanisms for women in training. Nature of support: In 1986 the Trust agreed to a grant of £3,000 to allow West Midlands groups to draw on the Lewisham project. Minutes: B&GSCT 6557. Notes: File organised from newest to oldest.
