Funding source(s): Barrow Cadbury Fund Ltd. Applicant overview: WIFA is a community based multi-racial organisation that places a great value on the island heritage of its West Indian membership. WIFA operates a community advice centre (dealing with queries from birth control to immigration) and is involved with youth education projects. The primary catchment area for WIFA includes Aston, Handsworth, Edgbaston, Balsall Heath, the city centre, Sparkbrook and Sparkhill. Nature of support: In 1980 the Fund provided a grant of £250 to purchase paint and other materials needed to improve office premises at the old prison mission building in Winson Green.
