Most UCDL domino teams are based in the West Midlands. The UCDL additionally provides a social outlet for the West Indian community. Applicant overview: This file contains a number of grant applications. The United Reformed Church (URC), Winson Green applied for the extension of the priest's premises. A number of other organisations are also included in this file. The Iranian Community Association (ICA) was established to 1) promote cultural, social, educational and welfare facilities for the Iranian community, 2) encourage and develop the co-operation and friendship among the Iranian community, 3) contribute to the host community by presenting the rich and varied Iranian culture and art, and 4) cultivate and enhance the co-operation and amicable relations between Iranians and the host community. The Bridge Project was established by the Birmingham Methodist Central Hall to teach young people how to cope with living alone, to offer personal development opportunities and to acquire services suitable for a drop-in service. Banner Theatre was founded in 1973 - 1974 and creates powerful, innovative, issue-based multimedia theatre productions, which it tours to community audiences. Banner carries out a number of workshops aimed fostering a greater sense of community among isolated groups of women on the outer fringes of the West Midlands. Nature of support: In 1985 the Fund made a single grant of £500 to the UCDL. In 1986 the Trust approved two further grants of £500 per annum to the URC Winson Green. That same year a single grant of £4,000 was paid by the Fund to the Handsworth Cricket Team for airline tickets to play in Trinidad. In 1987 the Trust made a single grant of £350 to the ICA. The Trust also approved a grant of £2,500 in 1987 to the Bridge Project at the Birmingham Methodist Central Hall. In 1989 the Trust agreed to an interest free loan of £10,000 to Banner Theatre.
