Applicant overview: SADWICA was founded in 1977 when a group of community minded West Indians, driven by a sense of compassion for their fellow men and women, combined efforts in pursuit of a common objective: improving their community. In 1986 SADWICA established a children's playgroup. SADWICA also works towards improving community education, lessoning youth unemployment, care for the elderly and other social activities. Nature of support: The Trust agreed to two annual grants of up to £6,000 to facilitate the development of SADWICA. Three further annual grants at the same level were approved in 1987.
