Funding source(s): Barrow and Geraldine S. Cadbury Trust. Applicant overview: Ashram Community was formed in 1967 to promote Christian community life and action. It was constituted and registered as a charitable trust. The Sparkbrook Ashram Community House began in 1977. ACSP activities include promoting small business, supporting home workers, training, individual work counselling, home care and maintenance, volunteer work, running a legal advice bureau, reclaiming derelict land and operating Ashram Asian Vegetables. Nature of support: In 1989 the Trust provided a grant of between £7,500 and £9,000 to ACSP. That same year the Trust agreed to three annual grants of £17,500 to cover the loss of public funding.
