Afeme aims to, 1) encourage young unemployed and disadvantaged people to take part in sport and recreational activities with an aim to encourage a feeling of self-esteem and confidence within themselves, 2) reach a proportion of black youths and other young people who are experiencing alienation from society and in particular existing provisions, 3) increase involvement of young people in the management process and encourage their educational development through recreational activities, and 4) encourage young people to become more involved in the wider community through the activities provided by the Organisation.
