Applicant overview: CASBA is an independent project that sets up and supports advocacy partnerships in South Birmingham. CASBA has been encouraging and developing successful partnerships since 1989. CASBA provides new volunteer advocates with initial training, preparation and on-going support. Individuals with learning difficulties form a primary group served by advocates. Nature of support: In 1991 the Trust agreed to between two and four years of support to CASBA at £5,000 per annum. In 1994 the advice of Disability Programme Trustees the Trust approved a further £5,000 for 1994/1995 plus up to £5,000 for 1995/1996 towards the crisis advocacy service.
