Funding source(s): Barrow and Geraldine S. Cadbury Trust, Southfield Trust. Applicant overview: The Birmingham Citizens Advice Bureau, like the wider national organisation, aims to 1) provide the advice people need for the problems they face and, 2) improve the policies and practices that affect people's lives. Nature of support: The Trust, together with the William Adlington Cadbury Charitable Trust and the Edward Cadbury Trust together provided over £3,000 to allow for the training of a BCAB District Organiser by the outgoing post-holder. The Trust turned down funding requests for an Asian Advice Worker and a micro-computer programme relating to the British Nationality Act. The Southfield Trust recommended that three annual £6,500 grants be made to the Prison Advice Research Project (PARB), a project proposed by the National Association of Citizens Advice Bureaux (NACAB) for a study at Drake Hall women's prison, Derbyshire. Minutes: B&GSCT 5157, B&GSCT 5473, B&GSCT 5677. Notes: File organised by date from newest to oldest. File numbered '5/16/2'.
