Applicant overview: In 2004 the University of Pennsylvania requested support to enable them to run an observer programme so as to enable opinion formers, policy makers and key stakeholders to observe and experience at first hand restorative justice conferences held in London as part of important Home Office trials to test out the potential for diverting adult offenders from the courts. Nature of support: In 2004 the Fund approved £30,210 in grants delivered over two years towards the programme. This grant was subsequently rescinded due to problems launching the project.
