Funding source(s): The CCJS became a registered charity in 1967 and was established in 1931. CCJS work in the public interest to create better understanding of criminal justice, social harm and social policy. It provides information, produces research and carries out policy analysis to encourage and facilitate an understanding of the complex nature of issues concerning crime. CCJS are non-party political and are committed to the production of knowledge to inform policy making, uninfluenced by governmental, party politics, commercial and other vested interests. Nature of support: In 2007 the Trust approved grant totalling £64,000 over eighteen months for three inter-related projects to develop a new critical framework of thinking about transition to adulthood, race, crime and poverty.
