Funding source(s): Barrow Cadbury Trust. Applicant overview: The CCJS was established in 1931 and became a registered charity in 1967. CCJS work in the public interest to create better understanding of criminal justice, social harm and social policy. It provides information, produces research and carries out policy analysis to encourage and facilitate an understanding of the complex nature of issues concerning crime. CCJS are non-party political and are committed to the production of knowledge to inform policy making, uninfluenced by government, party politics, commercial and other vested interests. Nature of support: In 2006 the Trust agreed to a grant of £15,000 towards strategic organisational development of the CCJS and a monitoring and dissemination project examining the impact of the new community sentence on young adults.
