Funding source(s): Barrow and Geraldine S. Cadbury Trust, Southfield Trust. Applicant overview: BT is a registered charity and was established in 1975 with the object of helping prisoners resume their place in society by providing them with moral support, advice and training in various arts and handicrafts. Nature of support: In 1978 the Trust approved a grant of £6,500 for BT to employ a field worker to visit prisons and secure the agreement of prison officials and inmates to help prisoners sell pictures and other artwork produced in prison. In 1980 on the recommendation of Southfield Trustees the Trust made a grant of £6,500 for a third year to the BT. In 1981 a subsequent application for support over three years was approved by the Trust at £7,000 per annum. Gradually decreasing grants were made for the following three years.
