It aims to work with young people to enable them to find and keep a home, develop skills and opportunities and prevent homelessness. This work includes liaison activities at the law courts to ensure that the families of young people taken before the court are informed of their situation and to also act as a friend at court. Nature of support: In 1977 Southfield Trustees recommended that the salary of a court worker be covered for one year totalling £4,750. Southfield Trustees approved the salary of a second worker for one year in 1978. In 1981 the Trust approved a grant of £500 to underwrite the costs of a trip to Germany by former offenders, mainly Rastafarian youths.
