Applicant overview: SACRO is the Scottish equivalent of the National Association for the Care and Resettlement of Offenders (NACRO). SACRO aims to promote community safety across Scotland through providing high quality services to reduce conflict and offending. SACRP is committed to developing new and innovative ways of working and influencing the development of Government policies and of legislation. It provides services in criminal justice, conflict resolution and restorative justice and reparation. These services are based on the values of mutual respect, recognising and valuing diversity, personal responsibility, society's responsibility to all its members, capacity for change and working together to reduce conflict and repair harm. SACRO also provides consultancy and training services in community mediation and schools work. In 1986 SACRO applied for funding for a reparation project. CRC is an independent non-profit corporation. It is a worldwide resource to people who are using their conflict resolution skills in neighbourhood, racial, ethnic or religious conflicts. Nature of support: In 1986 the Trust approved three annual grants of £7,500, £6,000 and £5,000 respectively to SACRO for its mediation and reparation work. Trustees also agreed to a grant of £1,000 to CRC to establish trans-national contacts in the mediation field. In 1988 three further grants of £1,000 per annum were approved to the CRC.
