Funding source(s): Barrow and Geraldine S. Cadbury Trust. Applicant overview: In 1972 Les Milner founded 'The Boot' night shelter, opening up the St Basil's church hall area as a basic shelter. The area could sleep eighteen young men in dormitory style beds. This work established St Basil's as a youth homeless shelter. The Centre's work expanded with the employment of youth workers and the rental of additional properties.
