Walter Moore founded Adullam Homes in the Birmingham area in 1972. Working with the local Probation Service, Moore established the first few houses in Birmingham, buying them with his own money and working largely on his own. Over the next thirteen years, three other independent organisations were developed at Winsford, Liverpool and Stockport. Together, these provided 100 bed spaces. In 1985, the four separate organisations merged to form a single housing association. Adullam works with the most vulnerable people in society today and we offer hope and dignity through quality housing and support to people. The National Intermediate Treatment Federation (NITF) was created by a group of interested local authorities concerned for better training of staff involved in intermediate treatment. In 1986 the Scottish Parliamentary All Party Penal Affairs Group applied for support research. A number of other applications, most unsuccessful, are also included. Nature of support: In 1984 on the advice of Southfield Trustees the Trust made a single grant of £1,000 to Adullam Homes.
