Funding source(s): Barrow and Geraldine S. Cadbury Trust, Southfield Trust. Applicant overview: The FFF was established by Frank Foster in 1974. The objects of the Fund are to provide financial or other assistance for such men and women who whilst under the age of twenty-one are, or have been, placed in custody under the order of any court in the United Kingdom in a borstal institution, detention centre, or similar establishment, and for such families of such men or women as are in need of financial assistance and for such other offenders and their families if the latter shall be in need of financial assistance as the trustees may from time to time think fit. Nature of support: Minutes: In 1983 the Trust approved three annual grants to the Queensway Trust (QT) of up to £1,200 per annum for grants made under the FFF prior to the transfer of assets from the FFF to the QT. In 1984 the Trust approved a single grant of £300 toward funeral expenses of the mother of a teenager on probation. That same year on the advice of Southfield Trustees the FFF was allocated £1,200 per annum for five years. In 1988 the Trust made a final payment of £3,600 to the FFF prior to terminating support.
