Applicant overview: CURS was established in 1966 as a centre for research and teaching in social planning, an academic discipline relating to urban regeneration, economic development, communities and public policy. Nature of support: In 1981 the Paul S. Cadbury Charitable Trust provided a £6,000 grant for a series of six CURS seminars and conferences on the subject 'The Urban Future'. A further £2,000 was allocated to facilitate the publication of seminar findings. In 1983 £4,500 was provided to support CURS research on the non-payment of mortgage interest.
