| Description | Grant file containing correspondence, minutes, agendas, grant overview, project proposal and funding requests relating to the Coventry Workshop International Conference for Telecommunications Workers. Funding source(s): Barrow and Geraldine S. Cadbury Trust. Applicant overview: CW (formerly Coventry Independent Consultative Agency and Independent Community Work and Adult Education Agency, Coventry) was established as a pilot project in 1973 to provide community advice on legal, housing, planning, public health and economic problems from an independent perspective not associated with local government. CW aims to provide 1) support for workers and the unemployed and tenants and residents to gain strength through collective action, 2) assistance in examining issues faced by labour and community organisations and 3) make relevant skills and information available to workers and community organisations. Nature of support: In 1987 the Trust agreed to underwrite the costs of a major CW hosted telecommunications conference for up to £5,000. This was later rescinded and a payment of £300 approved. Minutes: B&GSCT 6844, B&GSCT 6869. Notes: File organised from newest to oldest. File numbered 'EA/7/12/2'. |
