Applicant overview: The Centre was established to, 1) promote the benefit of the inhabitants of Handsworth and neighbouring areas by offering advice, help and assistance concerning housing, employment, welfare benefits, leisure time occupations, and all other such matters as decided by the Management Committee, and 2) establish, run and operate an advice and education centre with all necessary ancillary powers. Nature of support: In 1985 the Fund approved a single grant of £835 to cover an outstanding telephone bill. That same year the Trust made a single grant of £1,000 to support the salary of a full-time coordinator. In 1986 two small grants were made to cover library and office costs.
