DescriptionGrant file containing correspondence, minutes, grant overview, agendas, leaflets and funding requests relating to the Birmingham Voluntary Service Council (BVSC) building appeal. Funding source(s): Barrow and Geraldine S. Cadbury Trust, Paul S. Cadbury Trust. Applicant overview: The BVSC purchased property at No. 138 in Digbeth opposite St Martin's Church in 1983 when the premises were in need of considerable repair. At that time it was not possible to the BVSC to meet the £400,000 to £500,000 repair costs. Eventually repairs were carried out with only £100,000 left to pay. This sum became the focus of an appeal in 1988. Nature of support: In 1989 the Trust made a single grant of £7,500 towards the BVSC appeal. The Paul S. Cadbury Trust made a grant of £2,500 that same year. Minutes: B&GSCT 7054, PSCT 744, PSCT 769. Notes: File organised from newest to oldest. File numbered 'EA/5'.
