Applicant overview: CURS was established in 1966 as a centre for research and teaching in social planning, an academic discipline relating to urban regeneration, economic development, communities and public policy. Nature of support: In 1984 the Paul S. Cadbury Trust approved a grant of up to £9,000 for two years to support an M.Phil student researching the green belt policy in Birmingham. Paul S. Cadbury took a keen interest in the original CURS green belt study launched in 1968. In 1985 the Trust approved a grant of up to £9,000 to be paid between 1985 and 1988 to support a project leaders' salary relating to multi-occupation housing rehabilitation and improvement in Birmingham. In 1986 the Trust agreed to contribute £2.500 toward green belt research already supported by the Paul S. Cadbury Trust.
