| Description | Grant file containing correspondence, minutes, agendas, grant overview, leaflets, project proposal and funding requests relating to the Parliamentary Service for Community Development (PSCD). Funding source(s): Paul S. Cadbury Trust. Applicant overview: The PSCD was established in 1990 by the Community Development Foundation (CDF), the Standing Conference for Community Development (SCCD) and the National Coalition for the Neighbourhood (NCN). The service is the first such organisation set up to promote in parliament the profile of community development and promote social and economic policies which involve local people in the regeneration of their communities. The service will provide information of current issues and new initiatives, advise on how legislative proposals will affect community activity, help community organisations to lobby more effectively and suggest how public policy can better serve the community. Nature of support: In 1990 the Paul S. Cadbury Trust approved three annual grants of £10,000 toward the PSCD. This grant was subsequently rescinded. Minutes: PSCT 877, PSCT 919, PSCT 956. Notes: File organised from newest to oldest. File not numbered. |
